The Sabahar Saba Scarf from the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation is an essential accessory which not only is the perfect addition to any outfit but also promotes ethical fair trade. They are an effortless way to amp up an outfit in gorgeous earthy tones.
Made from stunning lightweight silk cotton, these scarves are handmade in Ethiopia using locally cultivated silk thread and eco-friendly dyes made from local plants and herbs. The scarves are woven on a traditional loom through such an intricate process that one weaver may only make 3 scarves a day.
By purchasing any of the Sabahar Fair Trade scarves, you are not only providing support for the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation but also helping some of the cured patients from the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital earn an income by spinning cotton for this supplier. Sabahar is a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation and ensures their employees operate in a safe, supportive and comfortable environment.
We are so pleased to have partnered with the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation who are on a mission to eradicate obstetric fistula and who are helping to restore the lives of these brave and beautiful women in Ethiopia. The foundation is currently able to provide full-time employment for five weavers and five spinners, with your support, we are hoping to greatly increase this impact.
