This spring we are honored to partner with the BreastScreen Australia program in a campaign that aims to encourage women to book in for a free breast screen.
Did you know? (I did not.) That currently, only 48% of eligible women aged 50 to 74, access their free mammogram services.
This means more than half of eligible women are not accessing this life saving service. A very scary statistic when we know that 1 in 7 Australian women will face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
In our team alone, we have 6 women who have received that diagnosis. Their experience and this statistic certainly encouraged me to go for my first breast screen last month. Being over 40 and under 50, even though we don’t receive the invitation letter, the service is free and available every two years. I encourage you to watch and share this video that we have produced to tell some of the powerful stories of women in our team and their breast cancer journey.
